There are two internet resources that have recently launched that you may find interesting. The first is Mediterranean Memory (Mem-Med), an online audiovisual library and archive focusing on the Mediterranean area. Currently there are 4,000 audiovisual items in French, English, and Arabic, as well as some articles. A “how-to” guide is here.
The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam has placed 125,000 items from their collection online in what they are calling Rijks Studio. Found a painting that might work for your project? You can zoom in, crop, download, and even print these hi-res images. Have fun exploring a museum that is currently closed for renovations until April 2013.
As the end of the semester comes to a close, we’d like to remind you of a few things:
If you have questions about citing properly or finding resources, feel free to contact us. We’re here to help you. You can always stop by the library or look at our webpage on how to contact us by phone and email.
If you will be gone during all or part of the break, please return any library materials you currently have. As a reminder, the library reserves the right to place a library hold on student accounts once items have been overdue for thirty days. A library hold prevents you from registering for classes and receiving official transcripts and diplomas; they are removed upon the items being returned or a replacement fee being paid. Library holds aren’t fun and are a pain, so please keep this in mind.
We are open during break, but with reduced hours.
- December 18th thru January 13th we will be open Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.
- January 14th to 18th we will be open Monday-Thursday, 8am-8pm, Friday 8am-4pm.
- We will resume normal hours starting January 22nd.
Good luck, Happy Holidays, and (when you get there) enjoy some well deserved time off!
